Alligator Pie

Ingredients:
|
12 Tenderflake Tart Shells (1, 255g package)
1 package instant pistachio pudding mix*
24 green Smarties®
White small point decorating gels
*pistachio pudding can be substituted with vanilla pudding with green food colouring

Method:

As Easy as 1,2, 3
Step 1 – Bake
• Prepare Tenderflake Tart Shells as per package directions. Remove with oven mitts, and set aside to cool.
Step 2 - Mix
• Make the instant pistachio pudding mix as per package instructions in a large bowl and set aside
Step 3 – Decorate!
• Once thoroughly cooled evenly fill each of the Tart Shells with the pistachio pudding and allow to slightly firm up
• To create the eyes
- slice 12 of the green Smarties® in half
- place each half in pudding with chocolate side down, side by side
- add a small dollop of white icing to create the pupils
• To create the nose
- Using a sharp knife cut a green Smartie® in half and then again in a quarter
- place each quarter in pudding where nose should be with chocolate side facing forward
• Create a “swamp of alligators” and serve
Alternative Option:
• Can also use Tenderflake Pie Shell and add several alligators and use green icing to create “swamp” with lily pads, etc.
